In 2019, John Paul College entered into a three-way contracted arrangement with Absolute Aquatics and Southside Aquatics to manage the JPC Aquatics Program and host our aquatics program in the local competitive club competition. The Head Coach for the JPC Aquatics Program is Lachlan Staples of Absolute Aquatics.
Absolute Aquatics operates out of our state-of-the-art Stephen Paul Aquatic Centre which boasts a ten-lane, 25 metre heated swimming pool, change-room facilities, a marshalling area and a 50-seat function room.
The JPC Aquatics Program includes a Learn to Swim school, squad training for competitive swimmers, and co-curricular training sessions for The Associated Schools (TAS) and Junior TAS (JTAS) inter-school competitions.
The JPC Aquatics Program builds a friendly and fun atmosphere, offers a pathway into school competition and club swimming, and provides the opportunity to improve and achieve personal growth through the discipline and fun of swimming.

Student Collection Service
John Paul College can facilitate a collection service for JPC students aged from Kindergarten to Year 2, via our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) on Monday, Wednesday or Friday afternoons (parents must inform OSHC if they wish to use this service). This service is designed to provide quality care and attention for young students to assist them in getting from class to a Learn to Swim lesson. The fee for the swimming collection service has increased to $26 and will be invoiced as part of the OSCH fee. This fee is in addition to your Learn to Swim class fee which is payable directly to Absolute Aquatics.
Students whose lesson starts at 3.30pm will be picked up from the classroom. Students who swim at a later time (4.00pm and above) will wait at OSHC / KINDY OSHC and Swimming Pick-up Staff will collect the students from OSHC / KINDY OSHC at 3.30pm.
Parents/caregivers have the option to pick up their child/children at Stephen Paul Aquatic Centre or at OSHC. Any student/s who is not collected by parents/caregivers from the Aquatic Centre at the completion of their swimming lesson will be walked to OSHC.
For further information please contact Lucy Steffan (Head of OSHC) at lsteffan@jpc.qld.edu.au.

'At Southside Aquatics swim club, we understand the real meaning of winning is to reach one's true potential, and not the place you finish in the pool.'
