Ms Sonia Cahill was appointed as a Non-Executive Director in 2021 and is a member of the Infrastructure and Governance committees.
HHer association with JPC began in 2011 as a kindergarten and primary parent while her family were based in Australia for 12 months between postings in China. Her three daughters returned to the College in 2015, with her eldest graduating in 2020 and the younger two currently in Year 12 and Year 9.
Sonia served on the Friends of Performing Arts Committee from 2016 to 2019, including terms as President and Treasurer. Her family have been involved in a variety of academic, cultural and sporting programs over the years, with their current co-curricular activities including cheerleading, choir, rock band, marching band, wind orchestra and netball.
A communications and engagement professional with more than 20 years’ experience, Sonia currently works in public relations. She is a director of the MacDiarmid Arts Trust, a charity she helped establish to preserve the legacy of an expatriate New Zealand artist.
Sonia is passionate about authentic stakeholder engagement, effective communication, reconciliation, diversity and inclusion, and mental health.
