Class of 2020 ATAR Results

We wish to congratulate the graduating Class of 2020 on their excellent results. In the first year of the new Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR), the John Paul College community should be proud of the achievements of our students.

ATAR Results

Under the new system, and for the first time, students have the option to withhold their results from the College. Therefore, the statistics below represent 102 of 113 of our ATAR-eligible students:

  • 3% of the Year Twelve cohort achieved an ATAR of 99 or above, placing them in the top 1% of the state (highest score of 99.80)
  • 15.7% of the Year Twelve cohort achieved an ATAR of 95 or above, placing them in the top 5% of the state
  • 33.3% of the Year Twelve cohort achieved an ATAR of 90 or above, placing them in the top 10% of the state
  • Across two subjects, two students received perfect scores of 100% out of 100% with a further two in two more subjects achieving 99%.

Diplomas and Certificate Qualifications

Twelve of our students graduated with a Diploma of Business. Students also earned either Certificate II or III qualifications in a wide range of industries (Hospitality, Health, Business, and Sport and Recreation). Two of our students also completed school-based traineeships and/or apprenticeships in carpentry and screen media.

Pathways

John Paul College is an academically non-selective school that offers our diverse community of students an all-round holistic education and a range of pathways to both tertiary study and other career paths. We are committed to personalising each student's learning journey and helping them discover their passions and strengths.
